Limited edition of 25 cassettes available only at 'Doomsday' launch shows, April/May 2018

"Originally a limited-release on their own Cinnamon Records in 2016, the 'Whipping Boy' Cassette EP from WIVES is their last effort with drummer Tim Guthrie and serves as a bridge between their acclaimed debut, 'Devoted To You' (No Patience / Mass Media Records) and the brand new 'Doomsday' LP on Black Wire Records. The three tracks are set as a 'trilogy' drawing from themes relating to Australian history and the landscape.

Side B features remixes of the first three tracks by Shoeb Ahmad, ASPS (Andrea Blake), and Enderie Nuatal (Andrew Mclellan) which see them reworked into a churning, mechanical odyssey. The unique styles of the artists work well together to create a disturbing re-imagining of the original trilogy. A bonus improvised, early version of the track 'Doomsday' is also included with download."

WIVES on this recording are Gus McGrath - synth/programming, Tim Guthrie - drums, Anja Loughhead - bass/voice, Jordan Rodger - guitar. Recorded and mixed by Jordan Rodger. Tracks 1,2 & 3 Mastered by Bruce Callaway at Broken Knee Studio
